The Vancouver Canucks (23-12-3) try to push their win streak to three when they welcome Roberto Luongo and the Florida Panthers (17-11-9) to Rogers Arena. TSN 1040 pregame show begins at 5pm, with faceoff at 7pm. This marks just the second time in his NHL career that Luongo has been a visitor in this building. The Canucks beat Luongo and the Panthers 3-2 on January 4, 2003, as Todd Bertuzzi scored two of the three Vancouver goals. Lifetime, Luongo is 0-1-1 in three starts against the Canucks. Ryan Miller will be at the other end of the ice tonight. Miller and Luongo have faced each other once in Vancouver since the 2010 Olympic Gold Medal game. That was in March of 2012 when Miller, Cody Hodgson and the Buffalo Sabres defeated Luongo, Zack Kassian and the Canucks 5-3 just weeks after those two teams had hooked up on that swap of young forwards. Together, Luongo (388) and Miller (314) have combined for 702 National Hockey League victories. They are second and fifth among active NHL netiminders. The Canucks are coming off a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night. Nick Bonino snapped a seven game goal-scoring drought and Linden Vey’s first goal in 13 games proved to be the winner. Ryan Stanton added his first since October 17, 2013 giving the Canucks six goals from five different defensemen in the past seven games (Weber (2), Stanton, Tanev, Edler, and Bieksa). Radim Vrbata, who missed Tuesday’s game due to illness, returns tonight. He has scored in three straight games. Brad Richarson who left Tuesday’s game in the second period after blocking a shot is also expected to suit up tonight. The Canucks are 5-1-1 in their past seven games. In the team’s past eight outings, the Canucks have held the opposition’s top players in check. Ryan Getzlaf is the only opponent to register more than a single point in a game against the Canucks, posting two assists in a 2-1 OT win on December 28. The Panthers are here after a 4-3 loss in Washington on Sunday – the second game of a six-game road trip. Nick Bjugstad scored his team-leading 15th goal of the season in Sunday’s setback. He is one goal shy of his career-high set last season. First overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, Aaron Ekblad leads the Panthers in assists (17) and plus-minus (+9). He will turn 19 on February 7. The Panthers get Tomas Kopecky and Tomas Fleischmann back in their line-up from injury tonight. Florida has seen 25 of its 37 games decided by one goal (13-3-9), and seven of the team’s past 14 games have been decided beyond regulation time. That includes the NHL-record 20-round shootout with Washington on December 16. Goran Dragic Jersey . Sami Salo scored two goals as the Canucks overcame a hat-trick from Edmonton Oiler rookie sensation Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to win 4-3 in NHL action Saturday. Kelly Olynyk Jersey . But last years runner-up Jarkko Nieminen crashed out despite winning the first set against Denis Istomin. Istomin fired 10 aces and won 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2 to even his career record against Nieminen at 3-3. http://www.basketballheatshop.com/Cheap-Tim-Hardaway-Heat-Jersey/. They actually finished with a better record in ‘07 than they did in ‘06 but only marginally, going from 61 victories to 66. Wayne Ellington Jersey . The Red Wings hadnt played the night before. The Boston Bruins had. A month from now, or two months from now, it doesnt matter. But right now it does matter, when you start and you play back to back, its wear and tear on you for sure, Babcock said. Miami Heat Jerseys . -- Andy Dorman and Kelyn Rowe scored in the second half to lead the New England Revolution to a 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City in the first leg of their Eastern Conference semifinals series on Saturday night. CHICAGO -- Fred VanVleet scored 22 points on perfect shooting and No. 3 Wichita State beat Loyola of Chicago 88-74 on Wednesday night to remain the only unbeaten team in major college basketball. Wichita State and top-ranked Syracuse began the day as the last Division I schools with perfect records. But the Orange lost 62-59 to Boston College in overtime, and the Shockers used an 11-2 run early in the second half to help close out the Ramblers. Cleanthony Early scored 18 points as Wichita State became the 19th school to begin a season with 28 straight victories. VanVleet was 6 for 6 from the field and made each of his 10 free throws. The Shockers (28-0, 15-0) can clinch the Missouri Valley Conference title with a victory at home against Drake on Saturday night. Milton Doyle scored 18 points and Jeff White had 14 for Loyola (9-18, 4-11), which has lost three straight and six of seven. Devon Turk finished with 13 points. Boosted by a capacity crowd at cozy Gentile Arena, the Ramblers battled back each time the Shockers tried to pull away in their first visit to Loyolas campus on the north side of Chicago since a 79-77 win on Feb. 9, 1976. It was just the third visit by a top-5 team to the Ramblers current home, joining No. 2 Michigan State in 2000 and No. 5 Kansas State in 2010. But every time Wichita State got a little push from Loyola, it just went back to its versatile grooup of athletic big men.dddddddddddd The Shockers had a 41-24 rebounding advantage and went 31 for 34 from the free throw line, compared to 11 of 14 for Loyola. Chadrack Lufile had consecutive three-point plays to help Wichita State open a 52-36 lead with 15:43 to go. When the Ramblers pulled within 11 with 5 1/2 minutes left, Early made two foul shots and a 3-pointer to reach 1,000 career points and run the advantage back out to 16. Darius Carter added 13 points for Wichita State, which can close out a perfect regular season with three more wins. After the visit by the Bulldogs, the Shockers travel to Bradley before returning home for a tricky little finale against Missouri State. Wichita State trailed the Bears by 18 at halftime on Jan. 11, then rallied for a 72-69 overtime win. Early made each of his first three shots and had eight points when he picked up his second foul with 8:24 left in the first half, sending the senior star to the bench. Wichita State extended its lead to 35-24 before the Ramblers began to take advantage of Earlys absence inside. White drove for a three-point play and Christian Thomas had a basket and free throw to help Loyola pull within five with 1:28 remaining. Carter responded with a strong layup on the other end and Matt OLeary missed two 3s for Loyola in the final 42 seconds, leaving the Shockers with a 39-32 lead at the break.
