^-^ Oingo Biongo are great....though i still reckon they have the silliest band name ever

My favourites are definatley Wierd Science, Dead Man's Party, and What do you want to be today? Their sound is great though.....and Danny is the best ^_^
When I first listened to it, it was like Jack singing rock songs

That's exactally what I thought when I first heard them.
I first heard 'Just Another Day' and I said, "What's Jack doing singing non-NBC songs?

Was anyone here lucky enough to see them live?

I saw them when they did their farewell tour in 1995. "Dia de Los Muertos", which in Spanish means "day of the dead", was what their final tour was called and the very last show was here in Los Angeles on Halloween.

It was totally awesome. They opened with a few songs from their last record together which was called simply "Boingo". That record didn't have horns in any of the songs, so the horn section wasn't on stage when they opened up. But a few songs into the show the horn section came out and they did all their old favourites. That concert ruled. It was non-stop energy and hits. There was no opening act.

The unifying thing about Oingo Boingo's symbolism and the icons and images they used on their album covers and their t-shirts was images of skeletons, death and Halloweenish items. It seems Danny Elfman was fascinated by Halloween long before he teamed up with Tim Burton for the movie. The neon skeletons and ghosts from Oogie's Revenge reminded me of pictures on Oingo Boingo t-shirts and the huge inflatable skeletons they had at the concert.

Oingo Boingo was a unique band and I'm really lucky I got to see them before Danny Elfman called it quits to start his composing career. As much as I would have liked to have seen Oingo Boingo go on for a few more years, they had already been around over a decade and they had seen some smash hits and huge shows in their time. If they were going to call it quits they did it at just the right time, because so many bands from the 80's were making fools of themselves, still trying to grind out a few more years of music but winding up being totally irrelevant. Danny and the rest of Oingo Boingo made way better music than that, and instead of trying to force a few more years they became a perfect example of the phrase "quit while you're ahead".

Hats off to Danny Elfman's old band, Oingo Boingo. Let's have a party.

I know. After a week or so of listening to it, I started hearing how it didn't quite sound like Danny. So I did search, and righted this wrong. (And never got around to changing that list. ^^; XP

Never heard of them. Although now I think that is how they came up with the name for TNBC's villain...
