Okay, so its about time we had some more Tim Burton Movie topics.
Personally I think the movies one of his best, Depp is pure amazing, the movie is just fantastic. heart-warming and heart braking at the same time.

Thoughts? Pictures? Comments?

If we tell you too much it ruins the story. Go rent it!

I just got it on DVD. The ending always makes me cry.

It's not a boring movie at all. It is fantastic.

I've never saw nor heard of it until now. Sounds like a chick flick movie.

Edward Scissorhands is often referred to as Tim Burton's most personal movie. If you watch it, you'll see what I mean. It's like a gothic, very beautiful fairytale.

I really don't like this movie, because everyone treats him horribly!! It's a good movie but it makes me cry every time I see it.

The last time I went down to London, as a Christmas present, I got taken to the Edward Scissorhands ballet. It was stunning! I wasn't sure it would be all that succesful when I first heard about it, turning a film into a performance with no dialgoue is difficult, but these guys did really well on it! They used some of Danny's music and some other pieces based on his stuff.

This is the site for the theatre it was performed at: It contains videos and a gallery.

Well, the cheapest tickets are L10, and the most expensive are L48. (I could afford a L48 front row seat, but of course my dad would have to pay for his and my mum's)

I'm going to see it in a few weeks, and I got some L18 tickets. (In the top circle, fairly near the back, but not too bad.)

the only thing i hate about edward siccorhabds is the fact that the mom just out of nowhere said "u know what, u should come home with me" who in the world would see some freaky guy and just take him home (not talking about u edward lovers, i mean 70's people) and the houses are all bright colors and pretty and eds is dark and scary, the father of kim is always looking like he's annoyed, and all the husbands leave at the same time for work and come home at the same time from work............It's freaking me out .......i can't understand y tim burton did all that? so.......yeah

Okay I will try to answer some of these questions for you:

I think the reason why all the homes and everyone are all bright and Edward is dark, is to sort of symbolize the outside world and isolation. Edward was sad and alone. He didn't have anyone. Where as the outside world, no one was really alone. They all seemed happy and had social lives. It can also symbolize good and bad. The people from the outside world thought that Edward was bad in the end. He was different and they were afraid of him. In the end though, it seemed that some of those from the more bright outside world were really the bad ones and Edward was good all along.

Now the reason why all the men leave and come home at the same time is suppose to be like how a corporate world was back then in the 60's and 70's, and some of the 80's. Usually the men worked from 9-5 and the women would stay at home and take care of the house and children.

Now in reality, if my mother came home with a strange man with scissors for hands, I would honestly be afraid. But in the movie, I think she was suppose to represent new hope in his life. It was a new change in his life and I think might have seen her as a possible mother-figure.

Hope that helps.

Just bought the movie yesterday...

GASP! AMAZING! TOTALLY UNIQUE AND SADDENING! And it now has a place in my extraordinarily small heart...

Anyone know where I can get Gloves like Edwards hands?

I've watched 10 times, a little too much. I remember most of the quotes and I have a link to the Ice Dance song from the movie.
